WAIMEA VARIETY MANAGEMENT LIMITED      Tentation Sonya Candy Rosy Glow Huaguan Waimea Variety Management was established to focus on the development and management of new varieties. We undertake all aspects of: TRIALLING & EVALUATION Variety evaluation in our Trial & Cultivar Centre in Nelson and orchard  testing sites in Nelson,Hawkes Bay and Central Otago. VARIETY PROTECTION Intellectual property protection including Non-Propagation Agreements,  Trademarks, Plant Variety Rights, Plant Patents. IMPORTATION & QUARANTINE  We operate a purpose-built level two quarantine facility accredited by MAF.  This enables us to source material from accredited facilties i.e. CTIFL in France,  Washington State University in the USA, Sannicton Plant Quarantine Station  in Canada and the Swiss Federal Research Station in Switzerland. EXPORT OF PLANT MATERIAL PROMOTION TREE PRODUCTION Propagation licensing to Waimea Nurseries and other Sub-Licensees. COMMERCIALISATION AND GRANTING OF PRODUCTION  RIGHTS WITHIN NEW ZEALAND MONITORING TREE PRODUCTION AND COLLECTION  OF ROYALTIES WITHIN NEW ZEALAND AND GLOBALLY ADVICE ON PROSPECTIVE DEVELOPMENT PATHWAYS   Waimea Variety Management has be involved with the development of club varieties in New Zealand, including Apples Tentation® (Delblush), Sonya® (Nevson) and Ambrosia and the open varieties Aztec, Candy, Redfield, Huaguan, Pinova and Rosy Glow. We are proud of our valued and long established relationships with leading breeders and agencies that allows us to offer you the world's best varieties and rootstocks. Waimea Nurseries is the sole New Zealand member of the INN (International New-Varieties Network) a global variety development alliance linking the world's largest pipfruit nurseries.
