WAIMEA TOPIARY TREES Buxus COMMON BOX   Buxus are the most traditional of all topiary, with specimens in England and Europe dating back many hundreds of years. Buxus sempervirens   Excellent quality popular evergreen topiary with masses of small dark green dense leaves. Superb containers & focal points.  Buxus semp. suffruticosa Dwarf variety of the popular boxwood, with a slower and more dense growing habit.   Chaenomeles FLOWERING QUINCE   Chaenomeles deserve more widespread plantings! They have the virtues of being very hardy, adaptable, easily pruned, and dramatically bright at a dull time of year. They are amongst the most beautiful and easily cultivated of early spring flowering shrubs. The fruit has some culinary uses.  Our plants are uniquely worked as standards and make ideal garden focal points and super container specimens. Twisted, waved and curled corkscrew like stems make this plant a real garden talking point. Grown on a short standard.   Cranberry Myrtis ugni New Zealand cranberry (actually a Chilean Guava) grown on a short standard to feature either in a pot or potager. Best in full sun, protected from strong winds and hard frosts while young.   Laurus Laurus nobilis SWEET BAY  Valued since time immemorial. Strongly aromatic foliage, which is used as a flavoursome seasoning.  Hardy, evergreen and drought resistant.  Good in containers.   Ligustrum Ligustrum Lemon & Lime Clippers New golden selection of privet. Pure gold foliage having green central leaf marking. Ideal for topiary or hedging.   Lonicera Lonicera nitida The Box Honeysuckle has very small leaves and twiggy growth. Fast growing and very hardy. This shrub takes kindly to constant clipping and can be readily kept to any shape.   Myrtis Cinnamon n Gold - Amomyrtus luma Glanleam Gold  Golden aromatic foliage, white scented flowers and cinnamon-brown peeling bark make this a great evergreen shrub for topiary and planting in patio pots.  Cinnamon n Green - Amomyrtus luma Rich, green aromatic foliage and clusters of tiny white flowers throughout summer make this a wonderful evergreen ideal for shaping and enjoying.   Olea europaea Olives bring the essence of the Tuscan countryside to your garden and our topiary standards are ideal for patio pots.   Prunus lusitanica  Prunus lusitanica PORTUGUESE LAUREL   Dark green glossy leaves and tidy habit make this evergreen small tree popular for toparising. Tough and quite hardy and easily shaped.   Sophora  Sophora Dragon's Gold Compact selection of Kowhai with showy displays of lemon yellow blooms through winter to summer.   Syzygium Syzygium australe Makes an ideal topiary subject with its lush dark green leaves and reddish new growth. Clusters of white flowers in spring. This evergreen Aussie native is suitable for growing outdoors in both the warmer temperate and subtropical regions of New Zealand. Elsewhere pots should be moved into a sunny frost free area to overwinter. Syzygium australe Blaze A compact form well suited to container growing.   Viburnum Viburnum Eve Price Incredibly long-lasting flattened heads of pinkish-white flowers, that eventually open to reveal  carmine-pink buds and flowers. A deservedly popular evergreen shrub that is ideal for topiary and container planting.   Waterhousia Waterhousia floribunda Another Aussie very closely related to Syzygium. With its lush, dark green evergreen foliage it makes a superb topiary but again needs hard winter proteciton.
